Working Group to bring down the price of Welsh electricity

Local MP Adam Price has welcomed moves by the Assembly Government to lower electricity prices in Wales.  Earlier this month Plaid highlighted how parts of Wales face 18% higher electricity prices than the average in England.  In response the One Wales Government is now seeking to establish a working group to investigate the issue.

Adam Price MP said:

“It is simply not fair that customers in Carmarthenshire have to pay more for their electricity than English residents.  It is excellent news that thanks to this problem being brought to the First Ministers attention there have been moves to bring down the prices in Wales.”

“A price gap has developed between Wales and England and it is important that we can work towards bridging it.  I am very happy that the One Wales Government has taken this matter up with the Westminster Government and Ofgem.”
