Llandybie Lights Out Caused Concern

Concerns about street lighting in Llandybie Road have been taken up by the areas MP.  Adam Price is worried for safety in the area as a result of street lights that need replacement bulbs.  The issue has now been taken up with the South Wales Trunk Road Agency.

Adam Price MP said:

“Clearly this is a potentially dangerous situation.  The street lights are there to aid drivers and pedestrians, without them there is a risk of an accident.  From what I am lead to believe it will not require major work only the bulbs need to be changed.  If that is the case, and I have written to the South Wales Trunk Road Agency to get confirmation, then it doesn’t seem necessary to allow the situation to continue as it is.”

Adamadded:

“I have been advised that it is a budgeting issue that is causing the situation to continue but I find that difficult to accept if only the bulbs need to be replaced.  Hopefully I will be able to outline the importance of avoiding any potential accidents, especially given how icy the roads are at present and action can be taken to rectify the issue.”
