Residents Fear Trees Could Collapse

Residents in the Heol Hayden area of Ammanford have expressed their fears that the trees surrounding their property could collapse.  Rhodri Glyn Thomas AM and Adam Price MP have written to the council about the issue calling for measures to be taken to avoid any damage to the houses after constituents contacted them highlighting the extent of the danger.

Adam Price MP said:

“The trees have grown so high that the branches are currently lying on the rooftops and there are concerns that there could be real damaged caused if they were to collapse.  The issue is one of safety for the residents as well as the possibility of damages caused to the nearby homes.”

Rhodri Glyn Thomas AM added:

“We have asked the council if they would examine the situation and cut the trees to prevent any damage occurring.  It is important that the trees are maintained correctly so that we can have the benefit of the green surroundings without the dangers of them growing over the roofs of local houses.”
