More Bluetongue Vaccine Order for Welsh Farmers

A local politician have welcomed news that more bluetongue vaccine have been secured for Wales ensuring sufficient supplies are available to be rolled out by September.  Adam Price MP said the announcement by Rural Affairs Minister Elin Jones would be a boost to the farming industry.

Adam Price MP said:

“It is important that farmers register an interest with their vets now so that they can purchase the vaccine when it becomes available.  I am glad the Elin has acted on this issue to make sure that there is no delay in providing the appropriate bluetongue response.”

Adam added:

“There has been an issue with the first batch of bluetongue vaccine but news that Wales will have a total of 7.5million doses of Bluetongue vaccine available for farmers to purchase to protect their animals is excellent.  The agricultural industry has been going through a tough period so I am happy to see that Elin and the One Wales Government are taking these precautions.”
