Menter a Busnes celebrates 18 years of success

Economic development company Menter a Busnes celebrates its 18th anniversary this month.  With the aim of developing a more entrepreneurial culture in Wales, it has helped set-up and develop numerous businesses and community enterprises since its beginning. It is holding a number of events during December to mark its special anniversary and to celebrate its success.
Local MP Adam Price, who was formally an employee of Menter a Busnes, has created a motion in Parliament to congratulate the company on its work, whilst Carmarthenshire AM Nerys Evans has also raised the matter at the Assembly with a Statement of Opinion.

Adam Price MP said:

“Having worked for Menter a Busnes I have seen first hand the excellent work they have done over the last 18 years.  Businesses throughout Wales have benefited from their assistance especially in Welsh speaking areas like Carmarthenshire.  The Welsh economy has certainly profited from the input of Menter a Busnes and I am looking forward to another 18 years of continued success.”

Adam Price added:

“Over the years Menter a Busnes have done some fantastic work.  Their work over the last eighteen years has resulted in solid economic benefits throughout Wales but especially in our rural areas.  They have worked with up to 6,000 people to develop over 2,000 new businesses in Wales and you can’t ignore how important that contribution has been.”

Menter a Busnes Development Manager Llyr Huws Gruffydd said:

“Our work is all about developing a more entrepreneurial culture amongst people in Wales. Whether it’s starting a new business, a community enterprise or just being more creative in the way people go about their work. As a social enterprise Menter a Busnes is itself willing to be enterprising and to develop new directions for our work.  We recently created a new subsidiary company called Mabis, which will offer a broad range of commercial services, utilising the consultancy, marketing, personnel and language expertise built up by the company over its eighteen years existence.”
