Datganiad gan/Statement by UK Border Agency
A spokesperson for the UK Border Agency said: ”The UK Border Agency is keenly aware of the important cultural links between Patagonia and Wales. All visa applications are considered on their individual merits. The system is firm and fair, and it applies to everyone. ”Everyone trying to enter the United Kingdom needs to satisfy an immigration officer that they meet the immigration rules and will comply with any conditions applied to their visit. If an individual is unable to satisfy the immigration officer, they may be refused entry.” On your question regarding who made the decision I can confirm that the decision was taken by an Entry Clearance Officer working for UKBA. I can also confirm that our post in New York is not run by Worldbridge they are our commercial partner who we contract to handle the applications but all decision making is done by UKBA staff: ”We are confident in the ability of our staff to apply the visa rules fairly and transparently. The Independent Monitor recently praised the Agency for its effectiveness when making difficult decisions. ”Visitors to the UK need to meet the requirements of our immigration rules. For example, they must provide financial evidence that they can support themselves during the duration of the trip without recourse to public funds or employment, and satisfy the entry clearance officer that they intend to leave the UK at the end of the period of visit.”
