Meeting Proves Next Step Forward in Recreation Grounds Regeneration
Carwe’s local councillor and MP have met with representatives of the coalfields regeneration trust to look at securing funding for improvements to the recreation grounds. Following the announcement of £85k coming to the area Cllr Tyssyl Evans and Adam Price MP met with Alun Taylor of the trust to seek match funding.
Cllr Evans, who this year is Vice-Chairman of Carmarthenshire County Council said:
“I am delighted to have secured the initial £85k but hopefully we can secure match funding to provide further financial investment in the local area. The meeting was very successful and we are now looking at finding grants that can supplement the finances that are already available.”
Adam Price added:
“It was a very positive meeting and I am hopeful that we will be able to build upon the money that has already been secured. I know that Tyssyl is very committed to improving the facilities in the area and it is exciting that everyone is coming together to work towards securing match funding for the money already available.”
