Gas Pipeline Fears Must Be Addressed
Concerns about the safety of the National Grid Gas Pipeline running through Carmarthenshire have been highlighted by the county’s local MP. Adam Price has written to National Grid requesting they address a number of safety concerns that have come to light as part of a report undertaken by the Mott MacDonald company on the pipeline.
Adam Price MP said:
“The report is quite damning in some cases. There are concerns about the long term performance of the pipeline, drainage as well as health and safety hazards emanating from the burying of construction waste. I have written to National Grid regarding these concerns and have requested that they fully address the points that have been raised.”
Adam added:
“I am keen to establish if the recommendations in the report have been taken under consideration by National Grid. I would hope that National grid can give assurances that any fears raised in this report have been sufficiently addressed.”
