Bus Scheduling Leaves Workers Stranded
Concerns have been raised by local residents and workers following the cancellation of the 282 bus service from Carmarthen to Brechfa and Abergorlech. The service has been moved forward to 5:10pm meaning people who do not finish work until 5:30pm have no public service home. Those without private transport have been reliant on the 5:40pm service and the change has caused a number of workers to be left stranded.
Adam Price MP said:
“We have been contacted by a number of residents and workers that are very upset about the changes to the bus schedule. Many people are reliant on catching the 5:40pm service and their working hours simply do not fit the new provision.”
Adam Price added:
“We are trying to persuade people to use a public transport service for environmental reasons and yet there are restrictions that make it impossible to do so. We have written to the council requesting that the working hours of people who use the service are taken into account and a later bus is put on to provide them with transport home.”
