Adam calls to rename cup after our Grav with Westminster Motion.
5th November 2007

Local MP Adam Price has backed calls to rename the Prince William cup in honour of Llanelli legend Ray Gravell. Wales and South Africa will compete for the cup at the Millennium Stadium to commemorate a 100 years of fixtures between the two nations. He has submitted an Early day Motion in order to allow other Members of Parliament to back the call.
Adam Price MP commented:
“Ray Gravell meant so much to Wales and renaming the Cup in his honour would be a very fitting tribute. After all Ray gave to Welsh rugby and Welsh culture I think it would be only right that something was given back.”
Adam added:
“The campaign to name the cup after our Grav is certainly picking up steam. There is a strong depth of feeling around on this issue and I have been contacted personally as well as at my office in Llanelli to join the campaign. To rename the cup after Grav, it would be a fitting tribute to a great man who dedicated his life to Welsh rugby.
